Barcelona, a photo a day

Michael!

I’m afraid I’ve never been a huge fan of Michael Jackson, although I remember having a Jackson 5 poster in my bedroom in my early teens. And I actually quite like his older songs.

Anyway, yesterday afternoon I came upon some 50 people doing the moonwalk on the Ramblas. They were all wearing a single white glove, and a Tshirt saying, in English: one small step for Jacko, one big step for mankind.
Was quite funny to watch. The press people were there as well, almost as many as the actual moon walkers.

And on the side, there was this guy, with pictures of MJ tattooed on his back and both his calves. He definitely is a fan!

So, that’s my posting for today. Tomorrow, I promise you heaven and hell! Stay tuned, friends!

  1. Excellent observation and image. I have noted this happening too, but to a lesser extent here. Small islands take a while to catch up to current trends.

Ok, guys, we do have a controversy. The first thing I'd like to say on this subject is: thank you for saying what you think!
What I think of MJ fits right in with Jacob's comment, but of course, it's only my opinion, nothing more, nothing else. I might just add that, maybe, MJ was a victim as well, in many ways, victim of that absurd society we all live in. Maybe he was made what he was, a product.

  5. Sorry to be a downer, but he was a pedophile and crazy as a loon.

I can't imagine putting such a tattoo on anything, much less a human torso.

He may have made a lot of music that people find exciting, but that doesn't excuse what he was and what he did.

Okay, I've said it. That doesn't mean we still can't be friends, right?

  6. Olá amigo! Realmente o MJ foi um grande artista, tinha fãs espalhados por todo o mundo, mas, infelizmente partiu. Que DEUS o receba de braços abertos, o abençoe e o ilumine em toda a sua trajetória.

    Abraços,

    Furtado.

  8. Good catch, Rob. This is such a fascinating phenomenon, isn't it?
I'm so glad you happened upon this MJ event and captured a piece of it for us. I have to say I recognize he was a very talented performer but the press frenzy following his death was absurb. I like this sort of gathering better, home grown and honest.
