Barcelona, a photo a day

Parella

La Parella, Catalan for couple, is a beautiful work from Lautaro Diaz, on the Moll de Fusta, in the Port Vell area.

What I could find out about Diaz is that he is Chilean, from Valparaiso. He studied in Warsaw, and came to fame here, in Barcelona.

How do you call a mermaid when it’s a man?

  2. I think he is trying to make up for being a jerk earlier, but he is going to have to do a little more than rub her with his stub of an arm before she will give him the time of day again!

  4. He's talking to her, but she seems to be looking straight ahead. I would wager to say many a man has had that happen.

  6. Well, it's certainly an interesting pair…although I don't understand armless mermaids? Oh, that's right, mermaids don't have arms. Finny me!

Don't people push them over just to see if they break?

  7. First, I love your header pic, so vibrant, like the culture, there. And these are such interesting pieces. She seems a bit annoyed with him. 🙂 Thanks for visiting my blog and for adding me to your reading list.

  9. Now I'm really curious to know something more about the author of these statues, but I have found nothing more. Your Italian is very good!
