Casa Amatller
Welcome back to Passeig de Gracia, the street full of weird and wonderful buildings.
This is Casa Amatller. Built between 1898 and 1900 by architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch, for the chocolate king Antoni Amatller, and inspired by 17th century dutch townhouses. The sculptures are by Eusebi Arnau. Another fine example of modernism. Very very touristic, of course, very long queues to actually visit the building. Haven’t had the time yet to do it, but I will, asap. And I’ll take some pictures, promised!
I can see why it's touristic – what an amazing place. Can't wait to see the interior.

i love it, it must be a very nice place to visit in spite of the queues. The windows of the building are adorable.
About your comment in my blog, actually that boat does not do sunset trips, and doesn´t serve food on board. But Florianopolis has another cruise though, ” Casablanca”, in which you depart form another part of Florianopolis downtown (near Veleiros da Ilha Hotel), and this one departs at sunset or night (depends on the time of the year) and offers dinner cruises.

Wow, the owner certainly had a flare for the ornate. Beautiful building though. Makes me wonder what the inside looks like.
