Barcelona, a photo a day

Bon any 2010!

I worked till 6 PM today, just came home. Just had a discussion with my few colleagues working late with me: where were you 10 years ago, on the big Y2K night?
Well, Elisabet was on a plane, between Hawaii and Japan, Emma was in Bangkok, and I was in London. Where were you 10 years ago?

The year is finishing. Let us wish you all out there a very happy new year, une excellente nouvelle annee, ein glueckliches neues Jahr, un feliz año nuevo, un buon anno a tutti e tutte, boas festas!

  4. «Louis» was in Paris. He celebrated the Y2K New Year at the home of a husband and wife team of chefs. Fabulous meal!

  5. Ten years ago we were standing on our sidewalk looking at the fireworks display from the SF Embarcadero. Took it on faith that Y2K hysteria was just that. Now? Ten years older!

  6. Spectacular fireworks (I must stop embarrassing my kiddies by calling them firecrackers)- they look like flowers.
Ten years ago in another house, bought plastic champagne glasses with flashing holograms that changed from 1999 to 2000.
Happy New Year to you both and thank you dear friends for all the encouragement by your comments.

Happy New Year or should I say bon any nou and best wishes for 2010.
    Cheers.

  7. Sitting in the forest with a very good back then friend, drinking hot Fliederbeer Tee and Champagne afterwards. Lots of snow and nearly silence, one of the best days, or better nights, ever.
May the new year be a wonderful one for you all.

  9. The fireworks are beautiful! I am going to put them on my computer screen and pour some champagne. Ten years ago? Who can remember? Here, hold out your glass and I'll pour you some champagne, too.

  11. I was in the Cross Keys pub in Cuzco in Peru. To night I'm just watching TV in my own living room in England. On the whole I'd rather be there than here.

    Happy New Year

  15. I certainly know that I was nowhere near as happy as I am now. Life is good, and getting better.

Happy New Year to you both!

  16. I was at home in Arizona 10 years ago, but was inspired by the TV scenes of New Year's around the world on Y2K night that we decided to go other places for New Year's Eve. In the years since, we have celebrated in Madrid; Paris; Zurich; Budapest; Queenstown, New Zealand; Cancun; and, of course, Tamarindo, Costa Rica.

Julie also posted fireworks today on her Scottsdale Daily Photo site.

    Happy New Year to you.
