My World Tuesday
Shopping trolleys. Everybody’s got one, young, old, male, female, posh people, students, rich, poor, etc. We have 2, an old orange one and a brand new purple one. In the supermarkets here, you need to leave them near the tills. But no worries: you put one euro in the thingy and you can chain your trolley up, so nobody can take it.
Some trolleys even come complete with a foldable chair, so you can sit down anywhere. Very convenient. Some are made of fabric, some of leather, plastic, moleskin, and so on and so forth. Some are real pieces of art, made by designers. It is truly a fashion statement here. And they can be extremely expensive, of course!
When will you get your own?
Please check out how other people’s World looks like on Tuesdays!
Colourful shopping!

Oh you have tempted me – a moleskin one sounds nice. My granny used to have one back in the `70s when I was a girl. If they are the thing in Barca, they are sure to catch on.

sadly, even how convenient it seems, i don't think it's suitable here, well, a lot of reasons really, mainly, for the trolley's safety even when it's chained.
you leave something here for 5minutes, it's likely to get lost. ^0^
but don't get me wrong, this is a great idea and environmentally friendly too. ^-^

Cool. I've never seen such pretty “agalot.”
Do you get that Euro back when you unchain it?
I am still resisting getting one, thinking it would be hard to maneuver in the crowded shuk and crowded buses.

I think they're a brilliant idea Rb and I's so thrilled to have found someone else who uses the term 'thingy' haha!

I haven't seen them over here in the USA yet – I wonder how long until we'll see them in stores…..

Perhaps I should open a trolley franchise here in Vermont. We do not have these here yet.
