Barcelona, a photo a day

Our World on Tuesday

Autumn has finally arrived. Guess it is the end of the leisurely cruises on the little lake in Ciutadella Park for this year. It is actually raining (Yipeeeee!!!) while I write this.

Our friend Robert in Athens had a very interesting post yesterday about his evolution as a blogger. I will come back to this soon, but let’s say for today that when I started this adventure 2 1/2 years ago, I remember several (many…) comments about the color riot in this blog.
Part of my evolution lately has been a switchover to some more advanced techniques (well, advanced for me anyway), like HDR, 360 degrees photos and panoramas. And I literally fell in love with the challenge of black and white (might actually start a new B and W one of these days, time permitting). So, here is the other version of the photo above. Hope you like it.

  1. I always find it such a hard decision whether to go B&W or colour, even harder for you I should imagine as Barcelona is such a vibrant place! But sometimes you just know that the B&W will create the drama you're after. I find it impossible to pick which one I like better, they both look so good in their own way!

  2. Both beautiful and I can't decide which I like better. The first one is so lovely with the different shades of green while the B&W exudes this sense of mystery and nostalgia.

  3. I too would shout yippee at the rain. We too are very aware of heaven sent moisture. Enjoy the lazy autumn days while they last.

  5. I like some of your HDR photos, but actually prefer most of them the regular way. Black and white is great on some photos, mainly those with great contrast. Just my own opinions, you should post your photos however you like them. I enjoy seeing Barcelona through your lens. Keep up the good work! (I also like Rio's Way – very much)

  6. The evolution of Daily Photo bloggers is part of the benefit. Julie and I have evolved, in part through buying better equipment and in part through the motivation and inspiration of sharing photos with others. And in part through seeing the excellent photography of so many others. We are still not doing HDR, though.
