Barcelona, a photo a day

Lights in the darkness

Crisis or not crisis, the Christmas lights are on, and the city center looks totally gorgeous! More night shot full of light to come.
One strange thing about this photo though, for us anyway… Outside temperature 19 degrees, high sixties. Not too christmassy! No need for a sweater yet.

  2. Beautiful shot, love the blue so cool looking! The temperature can range anywhere from 26C to 40C here in Perth for Christmas, I'm really hoping for the cooler one this year!!

  5. Dave, it is Plaza Catalunya indeed. The Corte Ingles store is left, outside of the photo

  10. Just think how the people in the Southern hemisphere feel about Christmas in the middle of the summer.

My guess is that your photo is of Plaza Cataluna. I see a FNAC sign in the background, although I remember a Cortes Ingles store, not a FNAC store, at Plaza Cataluna.

My niece will be spending two months in Barcelona soon, as her boyfriend is doing 3 years of post doctoral research there.

  13. Beautiful night scene. Not really Christmas without the spectacle, right?
