Barcelona, a photo a day

A country divided by El Clásico!!!

I always prepare my post in advance, the evening before usually, ready to go online at midnight. It is now 3.15 PM on saturday.
In a few hours, the fever will break out in Spain. Football fever! World’s best team, the Football Club Barcelona (the Barca) will play against the Real Madrid, the capital’s main team.
In Spain, you can support many different teams, Valencia, Getafe, Real Madrid, etc. Not here in Catalunya. Here, you only support the Barca, nobody else. Well, there might be some lost Spaniards supporting other teams, but no Catalans!

Right. Who will win? Last time, Madrid lost 5:0…

Now… PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE read this as well! It is the other version of this post, as seen by our friend Ashleigh and her family, in Madrid

No, it is not the real Messi!
May the best team win!
Sunday morning, update: Madrid, 1, Barca,3.

  2. Well, I saw the result the early morning day after game, and at ones I remembers danish Annette, who lives at a place where Barca-fans soundfull drives around in cars all night long ;(
…and I remember still the danish footballplayer, Michael Laudrup, after his chance of Barcelona-club. One minut a loved one, next so hated…
Sport of all kind, especialy where money flows totally, I dislike just like you two 😀
    Have a nice week!

  4. Interesting…
Catalunya overall is always a tad apart from the rest of Spain, whereas the Spanish national team was almost the “same” as Barça…
    Interesting country! 🙂
    God bless you!

  5. Haha! that's funny Rob, would love to see how you'd be if it was a game you were really keen on!! Sounds like Barca will have to pull their socks up the score wasn't quite as convincing as last year, next year could be all over red rover for them! Kidding!

The series you're thinking of is Royal Flying Doctor Service right, it was a great series. All I could find out is that the whole series is available on DVD now, and this link might let you download or at least watch (http://www.australiantelevision.net/flyingdoctors/) let me know if it works..

  6. I love watching sports. I think there are so many lessons to be learned there. Douglas MacArthur said, “Upon the fields of friendly strife, are sown the seed that upon other days will bear the fruits of victory.” So we lost…congrats to Barca! We will come back stronger next time! Thanks for the shout out, Rob and Mandy

  8. Dina, Barcelona won, 3:1. We don't care about football (or any other sport) either, just sharing the fever in Barcelona. Can't stand football, with all the trouble, big money, beer culture which go with it.

  9. So who won?
Sorry, I just never got into spectator sports so I can't get too excited about this.
The pictures are nice though; that I can appreciate.

  10. Felicidades a los seguidores del Barça por que ha ganado el fútbol. Qué gran partido, y qué gran victoria conseguida por el Barça. Y soy del equipo contrario.
