Barcelona Sky Festival

I managed to go very quickly to Bogatell beach, this afternoon, for the annual Barcelona Sky Festival: 2 days of acrobatics, stunning flybys, etc. This is, I believe, the elite group of the Spanish Air Force, doing what they do best, when they’re not in Afghanistan or Iraq.

Tomorrow is also the final of the Redbull Air Race. I doubt it very much that we will join the 1.2 million expected people. We’ll see.
You can always watch it here, live.
There is a much lower key medieval festival as well, which looks much more of a Sunday afternoon thing to do to me.

Norwegian Gem

This is by far the fastest way to go around town! Located at the cruise port, this helicopter company offers flight over Barcelona. You can also reach some hotels this way. You arrive with your huge cruise ship, like the MS Norwegian Gem, and 10 minutes later, you’re in your suite! Amazing. And very posh…
I’d love to take one of these copters, to make my own Arthus-Bertrand kind of photos!

PS: Thanks to Vogon Poet, here is the Norwegian Gem in Livorno, Italy.
