Busy texting, busy listening to music… We will never know. Everybody seems to have the latest gizmo, be it some phone which also makes coffee, or some music device with the latest pirated music… Pickpockets in the metro are obviously very happy about it! Furthermore as they are usually not arrested if caught, just held for a few hours, listed somewhere and then released. Read in the local paper yesterday about one of them being held 37 times by the police, for theft, often only hours after the last time… Visitors, be safe! Common sense will help you, more than anything else!
And hasn’t she got a nice bike!!!
…or you can get heavily fined. As a town of almost 2 million inhabitants, Barcelona has this kind of problems as well.
More and more shops do forbid their access as well to topless tourists, even though, according to the law, you can actually be legally nude in public. Some do.
Other fact found in the news a couple of month ago, some people have been arrested after having sex in public with prostitutes, at the Boqueria market, 20 meters away from the Ramblas, the main tourist area.
It can be quite absurd… Read in the paper this morning that, if you are too noisy in Villadecans, a suburb, the fine can go up to…300.000 euros, almost half a million dollars. Guess you better whisper there!
I suppose it is just a question of common sense, respect and decency, really.
